The Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) Scheme provides a free year of early childhood care and education for children of pre-school age. In general, children are eligible for the ECCE scheme if they are aged between 3 years 2 months and 4 years 7 months on 1 September of the year that they will be starting. The State pays a capitation fee to participating playschools and daycare services. In return, they provide a pre-school service free of charge to all children within the qualifying age range for a set number of hours over a set period of weeks
Footprints Montessori is taking part in the ECCE Government Pre-School Scheme from September 2011. The Early Childhood Care & Education Scheme (ECCE) provides one year “free” Pre-school education to every child in Ireland aged between 3 years 2 months and 4 years 6 months on 1st September each year.
To qualify for the ECCE scheme in September 2021 children born on or between 2nd Feb 2019 – 30th June 2021 will qualify. Your child is entitled to 3 hours free pre school per day,5 days a week for 38 weeks of the year.
